Establishment of Ashram Schools aimed at creating and improving educational facilities in Tribal areas



Sharavana 29, 1935 An amount of Rs.201 crore has been released by Govt. of India during the last three years from 2010-11 to 2012-13 for establishment of Ashram Schools aimed at creating and improving educational facilities in Tribal areas in ten states of Andhra Pradesh , Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha , Rajasthan, Tripura and Uttrakhand.

The highest amount of 70 crore 12 lakh rupees has been released to Odisha followed by Gujarat (33 crore 87 lakh rupees) and Madhya Pradesh(28 crore 50 lakh rupees).

During the period, 161 proposal for Ashram Schools has been sanctioned to fill critical gaps in imparting quality education in Tribal Sub Plan areas in these states.
